To complete our neuropediatrics service team at the Pediatric Institute of Italian Switzerland (IPSI), Bellinzona site, we are looking for one head clinic doctor
Profile:
The Pediatric Institute of Italian Switzerland, with its headquarters at the San Giovanni Hospital in Bellinzona, is the center hospital for pediatric care in Italian-speaking Switzerland and includes care in general pediatrics, specialized pediatrics, pediatric surgery, including a 2B neonatalogy, and pediatric intermediate care.
The new staff member will collaborate within the neuropediatrics service, which cares for all pediatric patients with neurological and neuromuscular problems, offering specialized consultations for inpatients and outpatients often in an interdisciplinary fashion with physicians from other specialties in both our regional and national network. Our service offers comprehensive developmental assessments in close collaboration with our neuropsychology team, and complementary examinations such as electroencephalography and neuroimaging.
The person we seek possesses professional experience, initiative and collaborative spirit. He/she will need to be able to work as part of a team, have polite manners with both the team and patients, and high resistance to workloads. Is able to work in a structured and independent manner and has an interest in teaching and research.
He believes, as we do, in the importance of putting the patient and his family at the center of all our attention.
The function involves activities in outpatient and inpatient settings in the broad field of neuropediatrics, participation in the pediatric medical service and in teaching and research activities in collaboration with the Faculty of Biomedicine of the University of Lugano (USI).
Prerequisites:
The person we seek must:
- possess a specialization title in Pediatrics (Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine) with a focus on neuropediatrics or an equivalent title (for foreign titles required MEBEKO recognition already obtained before starting). You will also need to have already enrolled in Medreg, prior to its commencement, your language skills in Italian (minimum level B2) – according to the new LPMed regulations in force as of January 1, 2018.
- possess excellent language skills in at least one other Swiss national language as well as English.
