SENP 2023 Congress

Editorial by Alec Aeby

Dear colleagues and friends,

On behalf of the European Society of Paediatric Neurology and the local scientific and organising committee, we are delighted to welcome you to Brussels for the 49th SENP meeting.

This year’s two themes will be :

  • The psychiatric presentation of neurological diseases in paediatrics.
  • Innovation in the management of epilepsy

The discovery of markers specific to certain autoimmune inflammatory pathologies has made it possible to redefine the boundary between neurological and psychiatric pathology. The aim of the first day’s session will be to enrich our dialogue with our child psychiatry colleagues, so that together we can better address these complex pathologies, for which a multidisciplinary approach is essential if we are to improve the care of our patients.

On the second day, we will look at recent advances in genetics and electroclinical semiology which have revolutionised the management of certain epileptic syndromes. Some exciting advances are expected in the coming years. We will have the opportunity to address these two aspects thanks to the participation of prestigious speakers and to debate them in controversial sessions.

Brussels, the European capital, open and green, easily accessible and multicultural, will welcome us in the magnificent Palace of the Academies, a short distance from prestigious museums and the historic centre with its magnificent Grand Place and delicious restaurants.

We look forward to seeing many of you there to ensure that this meeting is a dynamic forum of excellence for all participants. As always, we will have the opportunity to share scientific information, strengthen collaborative projects and exchange knowledge.

Networking with our colleagues will undoubtedly lead to a creative exchange of ideas, and we hope that you will be able to share your experiences while enjoying Belgian and Brussels life and culture.

Enjoy your congress in Brussels!
